I know, I know… book-to-screen adaptations can be a bit nerve-wracking for readers.
I, for one, always try to go into the movie with an open mind. Of course some film adaptations are easier to have an open mind about than others. Related reading: [Bookish Discussion] Book-To-Film Adaptations.

Ugh, a massive YES to Fahrenheit 451 (big fan of Michael Shannon and the first film adaptation), Annihilation (VanderMeer is such a unique author), and Ophelia! HBO is also doing a mini-series adaptation of Gillian Flynn's Sharp Objects with Amy Adams that sounds really promising.
Erica Hatch says
Ooh! I don't think I had heard about the Sharp Objects series! That's awesome!
Nicole Hewitt says
I'm excited about SO many of these! And there's also A Wrinkle in Time coming out in March.

π I've seen previews for A Wrinkle in Time. I only read the book once way back when. It didn't leave much of an impression on me, but I'll have to re-read it soon! π
Angela Lawrence says

Annihilation is a new one to me, curious. Looks like it could be fun? And I am going to be all over The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina lol when it comes out, because Riverdale is already a guilty pleasure! And it sounds like they're going to go dark!
Ophelia could be good too, with Daisy Ridley and Clive Owen in it. Maybe The Grinch too- "He gets meaner" kinda cracks me up!
The Darkest Minds I haven't read, but I can see watching it. And Ready Player One of course. π
Erica Hatch says
I need to give Riverdale a watch still!! Hopefully I'll get around to it soon π Thanks for stopping by!
Barb says
The new Grinch looks adorable but I doubt that's the point. I love Michael Jordan so hopefully that one will be good. I need Sabrina NOW!

I need to watch Riverdale now! And I can't wait for The Grimes. Annihilation? Did he write a book of the same name? Or is it called something else?
Thumbs up for Fahrenheit 451. And well, you mention so many good ones.
Strange thing I noticed, The Darkest Minds sounds exactly by another book by a completely different author. I read the whole series… thinking.. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28240333-omen-operation
Anyway! lol This year is looking great for films! I've now got even more reading to do. π

Wahoo!! Have you seen the movie from 1966? I'd recommend that as well. π
