Monthly Musings:
- Watching:
- Split
- I liked the movie overall. I thought James McAvoy was incredible! I didn’t care for the other actors though, and some of the delays put in for suspense really took away from the movie for me.
- Iron Fist
- Ugh, I’m not a fan of this one, but I’m pushing through so I can watch The Defenders. I really enjoy the character Colleen Wing, played by Jessica Henwick. And of course Rosario Dawson rules, she plays Claire Temple. But the rest of the casting I just didn’t really care for. And overall, it just seems like the show is either trying too hard or was super rushed, and it comes off awkward to me.
- Patriots Day
- Oh what a tough watch. I wasn’t sure I wanted to even give this one a go… but wow. They did a really great job! Make sure to have tissues ready before putting this one on. It was incredibly raw and heartbreaking.
- Unbreakable
- I LOVED this one. I thought the character driven storyline was really interesting!
- Assassins Creed
- I haven’t watched Alex play any of these games, so I went into the movie totally clueless. I really enjoyed it! I hope they make it a series! The action was all really cool and I enjoyed the storyline.
- Playing:
- Monopoly Deal Card Game– Our friends, Matt and Megan, introduced us to this game and I LOVED it. Poor Alex kept drawing cards he couldn’t really use, and when he get something to use, we all stole the cards from him. Luckily, he’s willing to give it another go. I can’t wait to play again!
- Drinking:
- A new friend, Amber, introduced me to a delicious beer, Founders Nitro Rubaeus. I had one with her, and then one with other friends later on in the month. Of course I had my friends all try mine! Two of them ended up ordering their own glass of it! 🙂
- Listening to:
- My Favorite Murder (Podcast)- I’m still binge listening to this one! 🙂
- In the bookish community:
- Hayley of Hayley Reviews rolled out a wonderful new feature called Friend Friday. I had the wonderful opportunity of being featured (check the post out here). If you’d like to take part, please contact Hayley! 🙂
- The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is Coming to the CW! Woot!
- Kyle Hubler of Evergreen Middle School decorated his classroom with an incredible Harry Potter theme!
- I also took part in Bloggiesta for the first time this year! Check out my wrap-up for that here.
- Looking forward to:
- October weather and spooky reads
- My second book club meet-up where we will be discussing the first book pick!
- Attending a Joe Hill book talk
- Halloween, of course!

Eight 5-star books? That's incredible! Hard to find anything to complain about that. I hate when you have to return books unread to the library. Happy October!

Wow, I wish I had so many five star books! I don't think I've had that many all year! I think I'm too picky.

Hi Erica!
I totally forgot to wrap up – apart from putting on an extra jumper, it's suddenly turned cold here in the UK! haha
What a busy month you have had! You're right though, September has flown by!
Hope you have a great October!
Oh, The Dark Net – I was looking forward to that, hmmm. Shame you didn't like it. I've still got it to read.
Erica Hatch says
Ha! It's so chilly here in Manchester, NH too! And it's SO foggy today!
I hope you have better luck with The Dark Net! I think I just picked it up at the wrong time.

What a great bunch of books you've read and it's great you had that many 5 star reads. I need to look at my recap but I know I finished some great books too. I thought Patriot's Day was well done as well. We watched Split some time ago and overall it was much better than I anticipated!

I still can't believe it!! I got so lucky this month! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!!
