Phew, this totally snuck up on me… I almost missed out on celebrating my second blogiversary!
In honor of today, I decided to put together another fun little post similar to my 1 Year Blogiversary.
My Second Year Blogiversary
Fun Facts:
- Since this day in 2017, I have posted 275 blog posts.
- My blog post total is now at 617!
Stats:
- My follower count here on Blogger has grown from 83 to 162.
- My email subscribers have grown from 824 to 879.
- My page view count has grown from 77,166 to 178,586.
- My Facebook fan page follower count has grown from 143 to 231.
- Honest review requests completed this year: 37
My most popular posts from this year include:
What Iโve Learned:
This year I continued to practice politely declining honest review requests that are out of my range and how to inform an author that I will be DNFing their book. Though of course I still hate to do so.
This year I finally learned how to properly track my favorite bloggers so I can make sure to comment on their posts frequently by using Feedly.com. It’s a great web-based platform that allows you to create various lists, which helps me keep things organized. The best part? Once you add a blog to your list, it records each new post until you go through and click the link or mark the whole list as read. So in times where I got really far behind in my blog hopping, my Feedly list was there to help!
Also this year, I learned that my blog cover photos weren’t very effective to snag the attention of others. Therefore, I began to take more book photos and use those instead of crafted images with the book title and author on them. This is also much less time consuming!
Lastly, I learned how important it is to have set policies written out to cover all of the bases.
Shout-Outs:
I know I am going to forget some key people here… so stay tuned, I’m sure I’ll be updating this section again soon ๐
Thank you to all of the amazing authors for contacting me for an honest review and for being incredibly patient! When I tweaked my honest review process, all of the slots for 2018 filled up very quickly. I’m so thankful that everyone that contacted me was willing to wait months for their book to be read.
Thank you to the owner of the online shop, Literary Book Gifts! I love my Dracula tank top and I still cannot wait to order another shirt! I was so grateful for the chance to help promote the shop by offering a code for 20% off!
Thank you to Martin Ferguson and Rook Winters for taking the time to participate in some lovely interviews!
Thank you to Donna of Girl Who Reads for hosting the #BookBlogExpo!
Thank you to Alicia of A Kernel of Nonsense for gifting me a wonderful bookmark!
Thank you to the amazing Lonna of FLYLฤF for creating all of the place setting cards for my wedding! If you’re looking for custom calligraphy work, check out Lonna’s work at Ink Furie.
Thank you to USB Memory Direct for helping me host a fun giveaway of book shaped flash drives!
Thank you to L. M. Schukraft, Tony Moyle, T.L. Branson, Martin Ferguson, J. Scott Coatsworth, and Rook Winters for your continued support and communication about your latest works! I love working with you all so much.
Thank you to Kevin J. Kennedy for sending me various story collections! I have been having SO much fun reading each of these.
Thank you to Mike Garley for putting a very intriguing Kickstarter project on my radar: Our Final Halloween – A one-shot digital horror comic! I adored this comic and I was so thrilled to help take part in promoting the comic!
Thank you again to Kelsey Butts, Pam Labbe, and Lisa Munley for putting some wonderful books on my radar. I always look forward to seeing your email addresses pop up in my inbox!
Thank you to everyone that was so kind as to provide me with a testimonial after working with me to help me build up that page.
And last, but certainly not least, thank you to all that follow, read, and/or comment on my blog. You are all so incredible and I am so grateful that you take the time to discuss books and bookish things with me!
