The Shattered Violin by Jared Bodnar is a tale about the loss of a loved one, and how far someone will go to get revenge.
Full disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my rating in any way.
Let’s dive in!
My Thoughts on The Shattered Violin by Jared Bodnar
When this tale begins, we meet a couple that are absolutely head-over-heels for one another. But as perfect as they both think their relationship is, there is someone that isn’t as happy as the two of them. He’s obsessed with Cassie, and if he can’t have her, no one can.
When Cassie is brutally murdered, Connor thinks he knows who did it. But rather than telling the police, he decides that he wants to get revenge himself. But right before he can carry out his first attempt, he slams into a woman and causes her to drop her violin case. The violin comes out of the case and breaks into various pieces.
From there, the story follows two paths as Connor tries to get the violin fixed while also plotting his revenge.
While I was totally nauseated at the two love birds at first, once the murder occurs, I was hooked right into the storyline. I loved how the author sets this up in a way that gets readers sucked right into the main characters quest for revenge. Even though you’ll want to scream for him to just go to the police, you cant help but pull for him to finish his quest.
I really enjoyed seeing the two elements of storyline intertwine at the end. This is a writing formula that I love seeing every time. As this was Jared’s debut novel, I can’t wait to see what he does next!
