Our Final Halloween: The Other Days is a fun collection of shorts set in the world of Our Final Halloween!
More specifically, these shorts give readers a look at what happened in the events noted on the calendar spreads that appeared in issue three!
I’ve been backing this project from Issue One. As soon as these bonus stories hit my inbox, I couldn’t wait to check them out!
Let’s dive in!
My Thoughts on Our Final Halloween: The Other Days
I loved that the art style in each of these shorts were all so different, in a good way of course! They each had a different color palette as well and I loved what each artist chose. Each story was short and sweet, and I loved every second of them and their spooky endings!
Here are just some quick notes about each:
De-Flea Day
Written by Michael Melim, Art by Farid Nad, Letters by Mike Stock
This poor pup! I love that the dog was not enthused by the process in the first two sections of the spread, but was happy afterwards! But the overall focus of this one and the last scene were very unexpected!
Hidden Treasures
Written by Mike Garley, Art by Michael Lee-Graham, Letters by Mike Stock
Oh boy! Never trust the sinister sounding toy!! I loved the creepy panel where the toy says “Forever.” The thought of a haunted toy always spooks me!
Research
Written by Glenn Matchett, Art by Geoff Class, Letters by Mike Stock
Poor Tark, Cats make me sneeze too! This one was fun!
Museum
Written by Greg Whitfield, Art by Kelsey Ramsey, Colours by – Lou Ashworth, Letters by Mike Stock
Oooh boy! One quick spotting of something that will come back later? I’d love to see this to get more of a historical background on things that are going on.
My Final Thoughts on Our Final Halloween: The Other Days
It was so much fun getting a look at what happened during the calendar spreads. Each short tale was interesting and I can’t wait to see if these topics ever come back later so we can see what happens next!
