Hark! A Vagrant by Kate Beaton is a fun collection of little comics that will have readers chuckling as they read along.
I read these out of order; I started with book two, Step Aside, Pops: A Hark! A Vagrant Collection, and then picked up book one only a couple of days ago. I enjoyed the second book more, but this one was still a lovely read!
My Thoughts on Hark! A Vagrant by Kate Beaton
Just like in the second book, I thought the artwork was wonderful and I enjoyed the humor. Many panels made me chuckle out loud, but not nearly as many as in her second book.
This collection was very history heavy, which makes sense because the author has a history degree. But sometimes the strips about historical/political events or figures go a bit over my head because I’m not a history buff.
I was very happy to see that there were Nancy Drew panels in this collection as well! I love those so much!
Check out some of my favorite panels below:

I enjoyed this collection, but didn’t like it as much as her second book.
Thanks for reading!
