Goals are so important to me. However, I have to admit that I tend to overdo it when listing out my goals for the year… This time, I’ve toned it back a bit!
Let’s dive in to take a look at my 2019 goals and how I did, as well as what I hope to accomplish in 2020.
My 2019 Goals
First, let’s touch base with my 2019 goals and see how I did:
Book Blogging Goals:

- Continue adding to my testimonial page |Success!
Reading Goals:
- Work through my TBR stacks | Semi-success.

I love your lifestyle goals for 2020! From the small ones, like drink more water, to the big ones like complain less, I’m all about that! I haven’t totally decided on all my goals for 2020, but I would like to run a 5k.
Erica Robyn says
Thank you! 🙂 Ooh! That’s an awesome goal!

You did a good job on your 2019 goals. It’s hard to re-read old favorites when there are so many good books coming out each year. You also did a good job coming up with your 2020 goals. I’m still working on them, but mine so far:
1. I wrote a book in 2019 (unpublished). I will write a BETTER book in 2020.
2. Each month read a non-fiction book outside my normal interests.
3. No gossip disguised as “concern,” and no venting or ranting. That sort of stuff only prolongs my grumpiness and makes the listener uncomfortable.

OOh! Wonderful goals!! I LOVE #3!

Continue growing my blogging community base
What metrics did you use to measure this goal? I’m always interested in other people’s methodology.
Erica Robyn says
Each year, I do a post on my blogging anniversary where I update the following:
My follower count here on WordPress has grown from 0 to x after the switch from Blogger.
My email subscribers have grown from x to x.
My page view count has grown from x to x.
My Facebook fan page follower count has grown from x to x.
My Instagram follower count began at 0 and grew to x.

I’d say that any progress on your goals is a success. Just having those little reminders helps you stay on top of things. Congrats on the house, and good luck with getting that loan paid off!!

You are so organized! I never make goals for my blogging at all. But I do have a goal to self-pub my romance novel this summer (under my pen name) so I’ve been laser focused on that.
Erica Robyn says
That’s so awesome!! <3

My goals are pretty small-get more books off the tbr, don’t buy all the books that look good and catch up on book series! I’d like to watch more films and box sets too so next year is less stressful about reading goals vand I fit in more fun stuff! Congrats on the goals you achieved this year!
Erica Robyn says
I love it!! I need to make more time for fun as well! 🙂

One of my biggest goals for 2020 is to grow both my blog and my business. Which, thankfully, the two slightly intersect. I really want to do more blog wise but I get so overwhelmed or panicky when I try to. I would love to do a blogging event this year! You have some really great goals and you did amazing for 2019!
Erica Robyn says
That’s awesome!! I hope you have great successes in 2020! <3

I usually also tend to overdo my goals, so I’ll try to take it slow in 2020. I think you were very successful on your reading and blogging goals. Also, congrats on buying a house. =D
Good luck with your 2020 goals.
Happy readings!

Drink more water is one of my 2020 goals as well. In general, making my physical health a priority is a big 2020 goal. And then creating a daily writing and reading habit are on my list. That might sound silly, but I just survived my first year of motherhood, and making time for reading flew right out the window.
Erica Robyn says
Physical health is so important! I had a crazy busy 2019 and all of my wellness habits went right out the window…so I totally understand lacking the time! Especially by adding a little one to the mix <3
