The Family by Lor Gislason is a horrific tale of things that go bump in the night, awful smells, and goopy body horror.
Let’s dive into my quick review!
My Thoughts on The Family by Lor Gislason
When a mother is awoken by her daughter in the middle of the night, the daughter states that there’s a man outside. Assuming it’s just another one of her nightmares, the mom gets out of bed to go take a look.
What she finds is straight out of a nightmare…
This tale starts with a jolt and only gets more terrifying by the paragraph.
The body horror here is absolutely amazing! Making it more intense than relying on just the physical description alone, Lor will play on the readers senses and you’ll be able to smell and hear what’s happening as well.
Like the best short stories, in just a few pages, Lor will scare you silly, but you’ll also want to learn more about what’s going on.
And the best part? This is just a little taste at what readers will get with Lor’s upcoming release! Keep your eye out for their book from DarkLit Press! I had the opportunity to give it an early read when it was with another publisher, and trust me, you cannot miss this one.

Intrigued, yes but mostly worried there may be too many things that go bump in the night, awful smells, and goopy body horror for my liking. Still, what sounds like a great read for those who are less of a scaredy-cat than I am.
