Let’s dive in!
My Thoughts on Sinner by Steve L. Clark –
After attending a party, a girl commits suicide by jumping off a bell tower. Wracked with guilt, her roommate and the young man she hooked up with that same night go to the police to talk. Afterward, they think everything will be okay, even as they grapple with their grief and regret. But little do they know… Three others are about to attempt to summon the recently deceased, and she’s going to answer.
Oh my gosh, this tale was totally unputdownable! There was so much horror and so much action, I needed to know what would happen next!
I also have to say that it was so refreshing to see fictional police and detectives who treat people with kindness and openly battle their personal biases to be better people and cops. I loved the way they treated these poor traumatized kids.
And my gosh… the ending. Such a wild ride from start to finish!
My Favorite Passage from Sinner –
I wrote more down, but they were all spoilers! So please enjoy this one:
The girl’s screams blended with the howling shriek of the wind, forming a symphony of horror scoring the most tragic of stage plays.
My Final Thoughts on Sinner –
Horror fans, if you’re looking for a read that will totally suck you in and spit you back out battered and bloody, this is a book for you! Just be careful with the content warnings 🙂
