Another month where I feel like I blinked and it was over! October is my favorite month, but we were so darn busy, it flew right by!
I started the month with a bit of a chop with my hair! It hasn’t been this short since middle school and I LOVE it. This was definitely a much needed change.
Other than that, I had a very busy month both at work and in my personal life. Luckily, I have a bit of a break coming up around Thanksgiving, so I’m really looking forward to getting a bit of time off.
Let’s dive in to the rest of my recap!

Monthly Musings
Watching:
Only Murders In The Building | 2021 Series | Hulu – 5 Stars
This show was so wonderfully done! I loved the whodunnit theme and getting to see puzzle pieces slowly fall together was awesome.
Marvel’s What If… – 4 Stars
These shorts are SO fun! If you’re a Marvel fan, you gotta check these out.
My Name Is Earl | Season One | Hulu – 5 Stars
I love this show so much. When Alex and I finished Raising Hope, I convinced him to give this one a try. He couldn’t believe the first episode, seeing so many characters pop come on screen that had been in Raising Hope!
Black Widow | 2021 Film | Disney+ – 4 Stars
We rewatched this one with my in-laws. This was definitely better the second time around! I laughed so much more.
The Autopsy of Jane Doe | 2016 Thriller | Shudder – 4 Stars
When a body is brought to a morgue, a son stays behind to help his father with the autopsy of one Jane Doe. As the session goes on, odd things begin to occur… This was a blast! There were so many jump scares that totally got me! And WOW they did a killer job casting the father/son duo.
Dune | 2021 Sci-Fi Film | HBO – 3 Stars
I haven’t been able to read this book just yet, but I hope to soon! I also hadn’t seen the original film, so I walked into this one in the dark. I had admin watching, but got a bit bored at times with the slower bits. I’m excited to see where this goes next though!
Blood Red Sky | 2021 Horror Film | Shudder – 4 Stars
When a mother and her son travel across the Atlantic to try to get to a doctor, the plane that they’re on gets hijacked…. But little do these hijacker’s know, they’re not the only thing to be feared on this flight. This one starts with a bang before going back to set up how we got there. Each step of the way is absolutely terrifying. You’ll feel so anxious and a bit claustrophobic watching, and you won’t be able to turn away! And that ending!! The only bummers were that the dialogue got super repetitive and that it was dubbed over. I would have definitely preferred subtitles instead.
There’s Someone Inside Your House | 2021 Horror Film | Netflix – 3 Stars
Secrets can certainly come back to haunt you. Especially in high school… In this film, a serial killer is taking out kids at a local school. Each one has a secret and no one is safe. This was a blast of a slasher! I had so much fun trying to guess who the killer really was. Of course, the revenge standpoint was always a hit with me.
Till Death | 2021 Horror Film | Netflix – 4 Stars
I wasn’t so sure about this one when it first began, but I started wishing the main character would get out of the situation, already knowing a bit where we were going to end up. This premise was wild! Just when you think you can guess what will happen, something else does! This was super suspenseful. Megan Fox crushed it! And that final scene!!

November isn’t one of my favorite times of the year. It’s going to be a month of yard clean up as the leave all fall and we prepare for snow to start falling.
But I am looking forward to more time indoors. Where I made such great progress on my honest reviews, I’m hoping this is the month where I get even closer to getting caught up!
Thanks for reading!

Wow! That’s some selection of books you’ve busied yourself with, and with nothing less than a three star and no DNFs it sounds like its been good.
I too love My Name Is Earl. Alas it never took off here in the UK and showed way back when has never been on terrestrial TV since. A shame really as like The Big Bang Theory I think it would have grown on people.
Erica Robyn says
I had a GREAT October haha! November is off to a more rocky start, but that’s okay with me 🙂 Aw darn! Yeah, I love My Name is Earl so much! It’s funny to be rewatching and see some jokes that didn’t age well 🙂

Your new haircut looks amazing! Every few years I chop all my hair off and it always feels like I am setting myself free, haha. Negative Space looks like an interesting read. I need more horror anthologies in my life. Happy November!
